Forty Acre Field, in the Newtown area of Westbury, looks ideal for building on.

See here how the eastern bypass road scheme could have helped this along.

The rising ground of much of Newtown plateaus on Forty Acre Field.

New homes could be built on level plots, while still enjoying fine views.

This field presently lacks viable means of access for home-owners' cars.

The existing Newtown road is unsuitable.   It is steep and not wide enough.

But a new eastern Westbury bypass could be adapted as a means of access.

See how the planned route of this road passed through one side of Forty Acres.

The developer could simply include further details - such as extra roundabouts.

The eastern bypass plan would of itself have changed the character of the area.

The existing rows of houses at Newtown project out from the rest of the town.  It can be argued that the edges of the housing zone need smoothing around.

There are lots of fields along this bypass route.    This is just an example.
